Trainee Onboarding

This time is designed to connect you with the documents, portals, and communication streams that you will need to be successful here at Supervision with TLC.
This half hour will also count as 0.5 supervised fieldwork hours during your first month as a trainee with us.

Group Supervision
(Currently Unavailable)

These sessions are specific times set aside in your supervisors' schedules every week to be available for a group of trainees interested in the same domain. Use this schedule first!
Remember:
No more than 50% of supervised hours may be in a group setting. If you're the only one in the group, it's independent!

Independent Supervision

This is a specific period of time scheduled with your fieldwork supervisor. Your fieldwork supervisor is who you completed your Foundational Skills with upon admission to Supervision with TLC.
Remember: At least 50% of supervised hours must be individual (i.e., group supervision may not exceed 50%).

Fieldwork Coordination Meeting

Let's close out this month and plan for next month! Plan to have your (1) Supervision Tracking sheets and dashboard updated, (2) EMF foundational skills signed off, and (3) plan for next month thought out - before this time together. Looking forward to hearing how this month went for you!

Get the most from your supervision experience!

Included in every month of supervision is access to The TLC Network, an authorized continuing education provider by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. You will have access to somewhere between two and four hours of independent hours every month and earn a certificate of completion for each.
The Consultancy has created a ton of study materials for aspiring behavior technicians and behavior analysts. If you’re ever feeling like you’d like some extra support or clarification on any concepts in your coursework or your studying, just ask your supervisor and they’ll connect you with what you’re looking for.
TLC tries to attend or present at one professional conference every month. As a supervisee, you will be invited to join them as a presenter, attendee, vendor - wherever you’re a fit! Conferences are planned months in advance, but you’re always welcome! Be sure to tell your coordinator what you’re interested in exploring.

Supervision schedulers.

Depending on what your monthly fieldwork target and task list learning goals are, you'll need to schedule different hours with different supervisors. Remember to schedule your next fieldwork coordination session at the beginning of each month!

Fieldwork hours and experience monitoring logs.

Clicking this link will take you to a shared drive in Google Drive where you will have access to your own folder of monitoring logs. This is where you will track fieldwork hours and task list progress.

Audit proof record keeping.

At the end of every month, your fieldwork coordinator will review and approve your hours, take a snapshot of your experience monitoring chart, and complete your Fieldwork Verification Form. You'll find all of them here.

Inside The TLC Network.

TLC University houses your additional learning. You will have access to somewhere between two and four hours of independent hours every month and earn a certificate of completion for each. If you request additional study materials, they'll probably be in here too.

B. Concepts and Principles

Section 1: Foundations B. Concepts and Principles focuses on the core concepts and principles of behavior analysis. This includes understanding fundamental concepts such as reinforcement, punishment, and stimulus control, as well as principles like behavioral shaping, chaining, and generalization. It also covers the application of these concepts to design and implement effective behavior intervention plans, assess behavior change, and ensure the practical application of behavior analytic techniques in various settings.
Individual Supervision

I. Personnel Supervision and Management

Section 2: Applications I. Personnel Supervision and Management involves overseeing and guiding the work of staff and trainees in behavior analysis. This includes providing effective supervision, conducting performance evaluations, and offering feedback and support to ensure the quality and integrity of behavior analytic services. It also involves training personnel on best practices, ethical standards, and professional development, as well as managing staffing needs and addressing any issues that arise in the work environment. The goal is to foster a competent and effective team that delivers high-quality behavior analysis services.
Individual Supervision

H. Selecting and Implementing Interventions

Section 2: Applications H. Selecting and Implementing Interventions focuses on choosing and applying appropriate behavior-change interventions based on assessment data. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of different intervention strategies, considering factors such as the individual’s needs, preferences, and contextual variables. It also involves implementing interventions with fidelity, monitoring progress, and making data-driven adjustments to optimize outcomes. The goal is to ensure that interventions are practical, evidence-based, and aligned with the individual’s goals and circumstances.
Individual Supervision

G. Behavior-Change Procedures

Section 2: Applications G. Behavior-Change Procedures covers the strategies and techniques used to modify behavior. This includes implementing evidence-based interventions such as reinforcement, punishment, extinction, and stimulus control to achieve desired behavior change. It also involves designing and applying procedures for behavior reduction and skill acquisition, monitoring progress, and making necessary adjustments to enhance the effectiveness of interventions. The goal is to use behavior-change procedures that are ethical, effective, and tailored to the individual’s needs.
Individual Supervision

F. Behavior Assessment

Section 2: Applications F. Behavior Assessment involves the process of systematically evaluating and identifying behavioral issues to inform intervention planning. This includes conducting functional assessments to determine the causes of problem behaviors, using various assessment tools (e.g., interviews, direct observations, and rating scales), and analyzing data to develop effective behavior intervention plans. It emphasizes the importance of a thorough assessment to ensure that interventions are tailored to the specific needs of the individual and are based on accurate, comprehensive data.
Individual Supervision

D. Experimental Design

Section 1: Foundations D. Experimental Design covers the methods and principles for conducting experiments in behavior analysis to establish functional relationships between variables. This section includes designing single-subject experiments, such as ABAB or multiple-baseline designs, to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. It also involves understanding control conditions, manipulating independent variables, and analyzing the results to determine causal relationships and the impact of interventions on behavior.
Individual Supervision

C. Measurement, Data Display, and Interpretation

Section 1: Foundations C. Measurement, Data Display, and Interpretation involves the methodologies for accurately measuring behavior, displaying data, and interpreting results. This includes selecting and implementing appropriate measurement techniques (e.g., frequency, duration, latency), graphing data to visualize behavior trends, and analyzing the data to make informed decisions about intervention effectiveness. It emphasizes the importance of reliable and valid measurement practices to ensure that behavior change is accurately assessed and interventions are adjusted as needed.
Individual Supervision

A. Philosophical Underpinnings

Section 1: Foundations A. Philosophical Underpinnings of the BACB task list covers the theoretical and philosophical principles that guide behavior analysis. It includes understanding the historical roots of behavior analysis, key concepts such as determinism, empiricism, and pragmatism, as well as the principles of behavior change rooted in behavior analytic theory. This section also emphasizes the ethical guidelines and professional conduct standards that underpin the practice of behavior analysis.
