PROJECT THRIVE: HELP

Creating Opportunities to Respond for All Learners

All students will not automatically buy into and adhere to classroom expectations.  They need help to understand the importance and benefit of being positive members of the learning community. In this thread, we discuss techniques to help students engage in their learning so that the classroom runs more smoothly and all students can achieve their best outcomes.

This strand presents actionable strategies for fostering student engagement and building a sense of ownership in their learning. Key topics include teaching students the value of attentiveness, breaking tasks into manageable steps, and using reinforcement techniques to highlight the connection between their effort and success. Teachers will also learn methods to cultivate intrinsic motivation, address disengagement proactively, and create an environment where every student feels supported in making meaningful contributions to the classroom community.
