Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) play a critical implementation role within school-based IEP teams. Under the supervision of a qualified BCBA or BCaBA, they carry out behavior intervention plans with fidelity, collect precise and reliable data aligned with IEP goals, and communicate objective observations that inform team decision-making. While they do not design interventions or make independent clinical decisions, their consistent implementation and accurate data collection ensure that behavioral supports outlined in the IEP move from written language to measurable, defensible practice within the classroom environment.
