Micro credential
“What is EBD and How Can I Help?” is a microcredential designed to build a grounded, practical understanding of emotional and behavioral disorders within school settings. The series begins by exploring the federal definition of EBD and the historical context that shaped how this educational disability category developed over time. From there, each topic is presented in a two-part format: first examining the related clinical understanding through a DSM-informed lens, then translating that knowledge into supportive educational practice. Learners will be guided through instructional, environmental, and positive support strategies aligned to the needs often associated with these conditions. This course is intended to help educators move beyond labels toward more informed, compassionate, and effective support for students.
