MICRO CREDENTIAL
In the program's first year, the challenges that came up most often were practical ones. School teams came in with different levels of experience conducting FBAs, some referrals arrived with little time before a scheduled meeting, and some teams had trouble collecting and submitting enough data. The checklist, the meeting talking points, and the standardized data sheets in this training grew out of those cases.

That's why this training is organized around the work itself. Each module prepares you for a specific stretch of the checklist, and the documents you practice with are the same ones you'll send to school teams.
The goal is that when your first case arrives, you recognize each step, know which tool it calls for, and know who reviews your work.

Interested in learning more about The Navigators?

The Navigators is for school teams who have reinvented their FBA evaluation process and forms countless times, but still struggle conducting consistently valid assessments. We contribute structure, analysis, and expert review of every evaluation. Your team contributes the local knowledge and the direct observation, because the people in your building every day have access to context no outside evaluator ever gets in a few hours onsite. The evaluation runs about twenty-five school days and your team finishes it able to do more themselves.

What would this mean for you as a Navigator?

Before your first case, you'll probably wonder a few things. Are you expected to know all of this already? What happens if you get something wrong in front of a school team? How much of the work actually lands on you? Those are the perfect questions to bring into a new role!

This training is built around those questions. You'll see every step of a case before you take it. You'll also know which pieces are yours and which belong to your colleagues. Your case review summary, your target behavior and prosocial skill definitions, and your FBA are all reviewed and approved before a school team relies on them.

This is not a course in behavior analysis. It teaches how the Navigators carry out a co-implemented FBA: the steps, the documents, and who does what, so you can put what you already know to work with a real school team. That means listening in both meetings, writing what staff reported rather than what you assume, and speaking up early when something isn't adding up.
