This session is a dense mapping of content and frameworks. Plan to pause frequently.
Most districts have no defined step between trying harder in general education and paying for an outside placement. That gap leaves two bad options: keep trying the same things or pay someone else to take the problem off your hands.

Project Nest for Administrators is a self-paced program development overview, written for the person who has to defend this decision to a board, a union, or a community.
In-district programming, not a placement. Not a reset room and not a one-way door to a separate program. It's entry criteria, an intensive period with a stated end, and a transition back that somebody owns from day one.

What This Means for You

You will be asked whether this becomes a dumping ground, whether you can staff it, and whether it blows up the budget. It's not an if; it's a when.

This session is built around those questions, not the vision. Because a leader weighing specialized in-district programming isn't wondering whether it would be nice to have. They are wondering how many ways it will go wrong.

Districts have been living with this gap for years.
This is a training on what closing it would actually take.

If you are looking for classroom strategies to hand your teachers, this is not that session. This one is about what only you can make happen.

Objectives

Participation

 Audience

  • Identify the program conditions only a leader can set and explain why implementation rather than intervention choice decides whether programs hold.
  • Rule out inconsistent delivery before approving a change to a plan and treat weak implementation as a support problem rather than a compliance one.
  • Read a program's week as a budget rather than a timetable and state in hours what it is short by and against which demand.
